Sara Spittler

  • Class of 2015
  • Chicago, IL

Sara currently teaches high school theology at DePaul College Prep on the northside of Chicago. This is her third school and seventh year in high school education. After completing the Notre Dame Echo Program through the McGrath Institute for Church Life, Sara responded to her call to ministry at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago. Additionally, she holds a certification in Ignatian Spirituality from the Midwest Jesuit Province and is a CASA volunteer in Cook County. Her time at Notre Dame was wonderful; Sara served as the president of Pasquerilla West Hall, was the managing editor of The Dome yearbook, and editor in chief of HerCampus Notre Dame. Sara studied Theology, Peace Studies, and Italian Language and Literature, which led her to study abroad in Bologna, Italy. Currently, she is working on her doctorate of ministry, her first non-ND degree.

As one of the original ND Loyal members, Sara has been with the program since its inauguration. She loves the opportunity to give back to her alma mater. "My best piece of advice is to tap into people's passions. Find out what they love and share with them how they can cultivate that love in others through their donations. People want to give when they feel connected, so keep an eye on any events or activities that revolve around what they were involved in at ND."
